Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I have a prostate problem, and when should I see a urologist?

Prostate problems often cause frequent or difficult urination, a weak urine stream, waking at night to use the toilet or a feeling that the bladder has not emptied fully. If these symptoms last longer than two weeks, book an examination. Early diagnosis significantly improves treatment outcomes.

Which public health insurers do you work with?

We currently work with VZP and Zaměstnanecká pojišťovna Škoda. Patients with other health insurers receive care on a self-pay basis.

How often should a man have a preventive urology check-up?

We generally recommend a preventive urology examination once a year. Men over 50 or with a family history of prostate or kidney disease may need more frequent checks, for example every six months.

How do surgical procedures work?

We perform procedures in our own operating room. Afterwards, patients rest in a comfortable recovery room and go home the same day.

What are the most common reasons women see a urologist?

Women most often come for urinary tract infections with burning, pain or frequent urges to urinate; stress or urge incontinence; lower abdominal or pelvic pain; recurrent kidney stones with painful episodes or blood in the urine; and lower urinary tract infections requiring urine tests and antibiotic treatment.

Which language is used during consultations?

The doctor speaks Czech and English, so language should not be a barrier.
